- Position Summary: The function of the Radiologic Technologist
position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform
all phases of technical diagnostic imaging. Radiologic
Technologists operate X-Ray equipment used to capture and develop
images for the purpose of medical diagnosis.
- The Radiologic technologist promotes the hospital's mission
statement by delivering high quality, cost effective,
family-oriented service.
- This position helps to create a collaborative environment by
integrating education, research and clinical leadership.
- Radiologic Technologists work with infant, pediatric, adult and
geriatric patients.
- Job Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography
program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board
examinations in Radiography upon hire.
- Preferred: OHSU-partnered Radiologic Technology program
experience.
- Preferred: Level 1 Trauma Center experience; Academic Medical
Center experience.
- Must be OBMI licensed.
- Must be ARRT eligible upon hire and ARRT registered within 6
months of hire date.
- Must have current approved BLS card.
- Schedule Information
- Technologists will be trained in all general radiology
exams/areas so that they are able to rotate through the department
based on workflow needs.
- Utilize the VIP transportation system to arrange for patient
delivery.
- Positions patient for diagnostic radiology exams according to
department procedures, training, and machine requirements with a
high regard for the safety and care of the patient.
- Operates radiology equipment, determines and sets exposure
factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure
accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat
rates.
- Uses computer image processing, as needed to select, process,
optimize and archive images to PACS.
- Completely tracks exams in the Radiology Information
system.
- Develops and presents images and related patient information to
radiologist for diagnosis.
- Assists with patient transport by moving patients using
standard procedures.
- Assists in the training of Radiologic Technology Students, and
adheres to dept. policy on supervision of student technologists.
- Additional Details
- A valid government-issued photo ID is required.
