THE POSITION

The Sheriff's Office Professional Standards Division is looking for a variable hour Management Analyst I to join our team. The Management Analyst I provides professional analytical support in the Accreditation & Policies Unit of the Washington County Sheriff's Office

The Management Analyst I works alongside a team writing and distributing policy along with gathering compliance documentation and building accreditation files. The Sheriff's Office is proud to maintain national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and compliance with the Oregon Jail Standards. This position will support both programs and the Accreditation & Policies Unit and Command staff in creating and reviewing policies. It will report to a Policy Analyst who is responsible for overall project management.

      • Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and law enforcement policy management systems.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of evolving law enforcement standards and best practices
        ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
        Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
        1. Support the Sheriff's Office accreditation programs by managing and completing time-sensitive activities, processing documents to show compliance, querying and locating documents, maintaining complex electronic file systems, and prioritizing project tasks. Knowledge of Sheriff's Office systems and processes is highly desirable.
        2. Support Sheriff's Office Command staff in creating and reviewing policies. Track the completion of policies to ensure goals and objectives are met.
        3. Access reports, documents, audits, and many other stored documents using various law enforcement and jail management databases, records systems, and web application to demonstrate the Sheriff's Office compliance with professional standards.
        4. Process sensitive information that is used to show compliance with professional standards.
        5. Represent the Sheriff's Office at meetings with other agencies and the public. Work collaboratively with a wide variety of people.
        6. Perform related duties as assigned.

        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
        Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration, finance, economics, statistics, accounting or a related field that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; OR
      • Associate's Degree in public or business administration, finance, economics, statistics, accounting or a related field that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; AND two (2) years of responsible professional work experience in administrative, operations, budgetary, financial, or similar analysis; OR
      • Four (4) years of responsible work experience in administrative, operations, budgetary, and similar analyses.Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:
      • Must successfully pass a drug screen and an extensive background investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office.Variable Hour positions are at-will and hours are limited to 20 hours per week. These positions will accrue sick time and are not eligible for medical, dental, or vision benefits. This position is classified as an Management Analyst I.
