Were currently seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician I located in Portland, OR. Required Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management and or Civil Engineering Required Qualifications: In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including MS Project. Ability to learn new computer programs quickly. Current programs include SharePoint. Knowledge of Bluebeam PDF software. Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail oriented. Responsibilities: This position works very closely with the project owner, project superintendents and project engineer. Ensure all work is in conformance with the contractual requirements. Verify all material incorporated into the project conforms to all submittals, project specifications and drawings. Create/Prepare outgoing correspondence to the clients, subcontractors, and other outside entities, ensuring accuracy, quality and professionalism of work. Manage change order process with the project owner and trade partners, including identification, preparation and timely submittal of protests and requests for equitable adjustments or claims following vigorous efforts to negotiate reasonable resolutions to the issue. Manage submittal and RFI processes including logs. Support services include maintaining the engineering drawing library and database; clerical support including scanning drawings, documents, and copying/printing; material testing; concrete compression strength testing; slump test and aggregate analysis. Perform support services to ensure engineering and technical documentation is maintained current and made available in a timely manner and as specified. Maintain project plans, files etc BlueBeam Ensure plans, files, and drawings are current and accurate and updated within the specified time. Frequent verbal and written communication with general contractors, subcontractors, and/or owners representatives. Salary: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour Bonus Pay: A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
